Your job as a logistic administrator for Médecins Sans
Frontières (MSF)
As a logistic administrator (LogAdmin), you
will provide logistic (supply and administrative) support to all
activities in our medical facilities. Your work will get the whole
machinery of our activities going and keep it going. Your
activities will range from handling orders and management of
supply, purchasing, stock and freight to administrative management.
You will be managing a small team of local staff with whose
assistance you will be responsible for regular stock overviews,
supply reports and orders. In addition, you will have human
resources responsibilities at project level, including assisting
the project coordinator in hiring and supervising local staff.
Additionally you will have a key role in maintaining contact with
other non-governmental organizations (NGOs), other
MSF sections and local suppliers. You will be responsible for
financial and salary administration, including tax procedures. You
will be based in the project location.
Requirements for LogAdmins with MSF
- At least two years’ relevant work experience
and demonstrable experience in supply chain management
- Proven experience in finance, bookkeeping and
budget management
- Analytical capability and strong skills in
the use of spreadsheet software
- Experience in training, coaching and
supervision of subordinate staff
- Work or travel experience in developing
countries
- A good command of the English language
- Ability to cope with stress and to organize
and prioritize workload
- Ability to work in an international team
- Willingness to work in an unstable and
insecure environment
- Availability of at least 12 months
Assets
- A resourceful, creative and independent
attitude
- General technical knowledge in areas such as
vehicle mechanics, energy and electricity, IT, communications,
construction and rehabilitation of buildings
- Experience with a similar non-governmental
organization abroad
- A good command of the French language
